During winter time, from late October through February, hundreds of killer-whales, the largest member of the dolphin family, invade the Ofotfjord.  These 8-9metres long, magnificent animals are following the herring into the fjord.  They can be observed from shore, and to allow for a closer look boat trips can be arranged.
